Myth, Mothers & Mycelium

Myth, Mothers & Mycelium is the collaborative work of Phenia Joy Danielsen (@woman.ofthenorth) and Sara Bøgh (@nykken_illu). We have a common vision of reawakening lost knowledge in the spheres of Myth, Motherhood, Feminine wisdom, old Nordic cultural heritage and traditions, ceremonial and ritual practices, shamanic work, healing and plant medicine. We create and hold space for the big thresholds in life. We offer a framework for travelling through portals of transformation, and we support remembrance and reawakening of bodily and somatic wisdom through song, resonance, movement, and ritual.
Welcome to our world of Mystery and Expansion
MYTH: Lost mirrors we were given by our ancestors, but in this modern age, we have forgotten to look into and examine the reflection. Myths can help us see ourselves through archetypes and universal stories, that support our transformations throughout life's stormy journey. Narratives hold a lot of power, and exploring them gives us agency to utilise their themes to support us in our rites of passage, and to create new narratives that shape our journey of self discovery.
MOTHERS: Lost feminine wisdom buried in our wombs. We reawaken old womb technology, dive into cyclical wisdom, creative forces of the feminine, the suppressed language of the body, power of the blood and of our voices. Nurture and tribal support for women, sisterhood and circles, transfer of knowledge about the rites of passage of motherhood from our elders and ancestors, to empower women, mothers, and babies in a fragmentet world.
MYCELIUM: The cosmic web of nature's inherent intelligence, showing us humility for life force energy, and teaching us the power of nature's magic. The Norns sit under the tree of life Yggdrasil, and spin the threads of destiny for man. Threads that weave a blanket of paths and possibility, a network of fate that is beyond our minds' understanding. Mycelium is an ancient grandmother, whispering to us from underground 'every time you stomp and sing, the vibrations speak to me, and you enter into an eternal dance with the mushrooms and the vættir (land spirits) of your land.' This dance reminds us of our connection to the landscape, and that once we were one with all living entities. We were in humble exchange with our surroundings. This deep longing for connection to something greater, to something lost, to something ancient, runs deep in many of us. If your feel that pull, that call, then we are here to hold hands while we explore remembrance together.
